Title: Food Forest @305 Coordinator
3-month Contract: April - June
Part-Time: 21hrs per Week
Wage: $25.00/hr

The Food Forest @305 is a new initiative developed to increase relationships to space and land. To have a mutual relationship with the land that Children’s Peace Theatre resides on requires us to put in reciprocal energy into the land that holds it. Stewarding plants that will bring biodiversity back, contributing to the ecosystems and sustainable edible and medicinal plant production.
Programming and activities will be developed to help Indigenous and Black youth to build new skills, share teachings and knowledge, and build new relationships between youth, community, staff at CPT and the land!
- will have a passion for land stewardship, growing food and herbs, possess a strong understanding of the needs of Black and Indigenous communities, and have experience mentoring young people.
- will be responsible for supporting young Indigenous and Black people to connect to the land and participate in projects that increase access to Indigenous and black knowledge systems, Intergenerational learning: food security, seeding, caretaking, harvest and preservation.
- will have a proactive approach to work and a strong ability to network and develop effective relationships with a wide range of contacts including staff, volunteers, community partners, grassroots leaders and funders.
