Youth Social Infrastructure Collaborative

Been wondering what YSI is or what YSI has been up to?

Our video from our Art of Hosting Training (in collaboration with the brilliant folks at 4Rs Youth Movement) in Thunder Bay last December is ready! We think it beautifully articulates the power of what we created and experienced together that weekend, and what we're trying to do in the world. Take a look!

Thanks to our partners and funders who helped to make this possible:

Accelerating and Amplifying the conditions for youth led organizing

The youth social infrastructure (YSI) collaborative is an intergenerational network and community of practice that co-creates the supports that young people need to make good things happen in their communities.

We offer venues, skills, opportunities
and relationships so that diverse generations and cultures can learn from each other, grow more resilient as a network and community, and take our contributions and innovations to the next level of impact.

We: convene diverse organizers & allies • connect in participatory ways • cultivate shared knowledge • support local organizing

OUR UNIQUE NAME

YSI is a name that raises eyebrows, and that is exactly the point. Because it stands for a vision that also raises eyebrows:

Youth: The pathways to social justice are paved with the energy and organizing practices of young people, especially those with the most so-called "problems".

Social Infrastructure: We can take these trailblazing efforts to the next level by creating local communities of support outside of traditional hierarchies.

Collaborative: When we deepen and transform the relationships between young organizers and adult allies across diverse communities and institutions, we are building a movement for youth-led social justice.

COME SAY HI!

Children's Peace Theatre is currently supporting YSI through its Shared Platform initiative. Myia Davar is the Network Lead with YSI and is often at Children's Peace Theatre. Please reach out!
