Youth Art Zone is designed to provide access to a dedicated arts space for young artists in the community. Youth will have the opportunity to develop their visual arts skills and to work individually and collaboratively.
A professional visual artist will host weekly studio sessions to engage youth in artistic and creative activities that teach art skills as well as encourage them to express themselves. Youth will also be welcome to just drop by to catch the positive vibe, learn to draw, get support with their own solo art projects, or advice on how to get into art programs or how to get their work shown in the community. The project will nurture a peer-to-peer atmosphere and provide an opportunity for the diverse youth in the community to discover common ground with each other. All youth will be mentored and encouraged to support each other’s’ projects and to participate in a culminating group exhibit on a theme relevant to the participants. |
