About Us
The Children's Peace Theatre operates as a registered charity. It is our Mission to:
honour children and young people in the pursuit of peace through the practice of theatre.
The work of the CPT is part of an international movement working towards the establishment of a worldwide culture of peace for children of the world.
This year, 155 children, youth, adults and elders will participate in Peace Theatre programs, all of which are based on the concept of Conflict Evolution. This process regards conflict as a positive force that can bring benefit to all parties engaged in conflict.
CPT programs use the practice of theatre to engage in conflict with courage, compassion and creativity believing that peace is found in the heart of conflict and that peace is always possible.
Based on the success of its initial performances, the CPT received the honour of being invited to perform for the United Nations Special Sessions for Children of the World in New York City in 2001. It was the beginning of the CPT's evolution from a three-year pilot project to a well-established program working for peace.
The CPT is seeking partnerships that will ensure the success of its programming and extend the potential of its mission. Interested partners and supporters have the capacity to help Children's Peace Theatre achieve the following integrated goals:

To provide a working environment that fosters relationships and enables children, youth, adults, and elders to create conditions for peace, non-violence and compassionate leadership

To develop an understanding of the relationship between peace and conflict personally, within the family, communally and globally

To support the creation of new theatrical work by and for the community with special emphasis on young people

To link artists and learners of all ages and provide artistic opportunities within and outside the educational institution setting

To allow the theatre to continue to be a fully inclusive community offering programs universally to all interested individuals
Children are peacemakers. Peace is possible. Theatre is powerful.
